j0382674 thumb Five Questions The Women at Forty Five Questions Challenge – 100 women, 5 questions, 3 words or less

We want 100 women to answer 5 questions in 3 words or less. As a woman whose nickname was the village lawyer as a child, I know how hard it is to answer any question in 3 words or less, but that’s why this is a challenge. As for getting 100 women to respond…if Three 6 Mafia can win an Oscar

So, here are the ground rules:

  • Leave your responses in the comment section of this post
  • Copy and past the question block, and type your answers next to the questions
  • Include your name (screen name if you prefer to remain anonymous) and your age
  • Answer each question in three words or less
  • Any woman who’s turning forty soon (you decide what soon is) or been there-done that (no matter how long ago), can participate

And here are your five questions:

  1. Most exciting thing you did/plan to do at forty?
  2. Biggest regret?
  3. The thing(s) you’re most proud of?
  4. The monkey on your back you can’t shake?
  5. Finish this sentence (ok, so technically it’s not a question) – If Three 6 Mafia can win an Oscar, I can…

Forward the challenge to your friends and keep up with everyone’s answers by clicking on the comment section of this post. You can also keep up with responses by clicking the five questions tag in the tag cloud located in the video box on the right side of our home page. To start us off, check out my answers here.

    Hey Carmen,

Sounds like you have the same monkey on your back that I do. Persistent little thing isn’t he? As for school, it’s cliche to say it, but most cliches are true – it’s never too late. If Three 6 Mafia… you know the rest!

    Hi Kananipod,

Thanks for your comment. I love, love, love your Three 6 Mafia goal! Living in Italy is one of my big dreams. I'm working hard on doing things that will make mine happen. Are you?

  • kananipod

Wow that was a quick reply!  :-)  Thanks for your message! Yeah, living abroad is a task and a half but baby steps, right?  I get really impatient sometimes and want it to happen as fast as possible, but it just takes tenacity and focus, both of which I find challenging to maintain!!  Right now I'm in the early planning stages – doing some visioning, 'throwing it out there' into the universe (so to speak), looking at villages in the area (looking at Bordeaux).  Funny, at times I just laugh at myself thinking, 'jesus i have $97 in my bank account but I'm shopping for a summer home outside of BORDEAUX! You gotta be kidding me…”  :-P   Have to start somewhere, right….  Aloha! Jenny

Technology is a blessing and a curse! New comments pop up right away and yours was so interesting I had to comment right away. I love that you have $97 in the bank and shopping for a summer home in France. If you ever feel like sharing your story – more of it – about why you want this so much, and other things that being or turning forty has opened up for you, please send me an email at contribute@womenatforty.com. I'd love for you to do a post. I think anyone who wants something so great and so out there (the villa with $97) must have some great wisdom and strength to share. Thanks for visiting the site!

I'm equally proud of having beat breast cancer this year, but honestly couldn't have done it with as much fun without the not so new anymore young boyfriend. So there we have it). Am I the only one who felt the need to add a disclaimer? Sorry. Lawyer here.

LOL@ adding a disclaimer. Thanks for sharing your answers with us Teresa! BTW since this is breast cancer awareness month, if you'd like to share your story of beating breast cancer with our readers, please send and email to contribute@womenatforty.com. We'd be glad to feature your story!

Most exciting thing you did/plan to do at forty? I plan on graduating with my Master's degree in my cap and gown.

Biggest regret? I actually don't have any.

The thing(s) you’re most proud of? I am a self-made woman. I pulled myself up by my bootstraps and joined the Navy when I was 17 years old and found a wonderful career in the government. I am successful and respected in my field. It is my hard work and persistence that has paved the way for my success. I also lost 40 pounds last year and I am back at 125 lbs and looking fantastic.

The monkey on your back you can’t shake? I get depression and sometimes have low self esteem.

Finish this sentence (ok, so technically it’s not a question) – If Three 6 Mafia can win an Oscar, I can…
What the heck is three 6 mafia??????

  • womenatforty

    Hi Ever,

Thanks for commenting and being so honest about dealing with depression. Your “not meeting him” answer is really interesting. How do you know you won't ever meet him?

  • womenatforty

Committing to style is a great answer! And as for “just being content”, it's trite but true, but do something you absolutely fear doing, it will help break you out of that “just being..” rut
